The Book Room is open during student's Break and Lunch to check out or check in textbooks and novels used in class. Also teachers, students or parents can make an appointment by sending an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How it Works
All textbooks have a unique 10 digit barcode with individual books checked out to specific students using their school ID number. Texts and novels are checked out for the school year and due back the end of May.
Over the course of a school year, students will generally have several different novels checked out to them. Teachers encourage students to return a novel when they are complete with that unit. This allows other students to check out that book and reduces the chance of a student losing the book.
If a book is lost or damaged, the student is responsible for paying for it or buying a replacement copy. A student pays for a lost book at the School Bank (Room 321). Sometimes a replacement copy can be purchased from a retailer for less than what ESUHSD charges. Since textbook covers can look the same, get the correct ISBN from me before buying a replacement. For the replacement copy to be accepted, the textbook needs to be the correct version used at STHS.
